Loudoun, VA- Aaron Thurston is one of Loudoun United’s Founding Members and was featured on this past weeks Founding Member Friday! Aaron is from Round Hill, VA and was raised in Loudoun, living there most of his life. In his free time he enjoys movies, history, video games and of course soccer!
Aaron got into soccer starting in kindergarten and continued through high school and also participated in intramurals in college. He now keeps involved in soccer by volunteer coaching for Loudoun Soccer. His favorite soccer memory is making the All-Star team 3 years in a row and coming in second place in 1994. They nearly took the final game to Pks, but unfortunately, their goalie made a save in over time and fell into the goal. It was the first time they had made it to the championship game. To top it off it was against their “rival” at the time, Reston.
When asked what Aaron was looking forward to most about Loudoun United he said, “The ability to have a Second Tier team in Loudoun and it’s partnership with the best MLS team in history, D.C. United.” Aaron is also excited about having the ability to watch soccer live and locally and not having to travel to see it.
