Match Day Information
Loudoun United FC (2-4-3, 9 points) vs. Swope Park Rangers FC (1-6-4, 7 points)
Kickoff: Wednesday June 5, 2019- 8:00pm ET
Children’s Mercy Park, Kansas CIty, KS
After a long two week break from play following a disappointing loss at home to Hartford Athletic two weeks ago, Loudoun United FC look to get back in the win column as they head to Kansas City to face the Swope Park Rangers. This will be Ryan Martin’s debut as Loudoun’s new head coach, replacing Richie Williams.
Although the Rangers have been a historically successful team in the USL Championship (52-38-27 overall) they have had some struggles in 2019 as they stand in 17th place. Their most concerning issue is on the defensive end, as they have given up the fourth most goals in the USL Championship with 26. Loudoun United FC will look to improve their offensive numbers, as they have just 11 goals on the season.
Players to watch
Central Midfielder Felipe Hernandez: Although only 20 years old, Hernandez is one of the more experienced players on this Swope Park club as he has over 60 appearances and 4,000 minutes of play under his belt. He has been the core of the Rangers offense so far this season, leading the team with four goals and distributing the ball well from his midfield position.
Forward Kyle Murphy: Team captain and leader in goals for Loudoun United FC with three so far this season, Kyle Murphy has proven to be dangerous when he has possession. Coming off a disappointing loss in which he just missed the net on two golden opportunities, Murphy will look to finish on net this Wednesday and lead his team to a much needed win.
