Leesburg, VA (May 17, 2024) – Loudoun United FC (LUFC) today announced that it will host a combine and showcase for prospective professional soccer players. The combine will take place at Segra Field on Tuesday, June 4 – Thursday, June 6, with a showcase exhibition game on Friday, June 7.
The combine will consist of three days of short matches during which players will be able to show their skills to the coaches and scouts in attendance in a competitive environment, while keeping the pace and level of play high. The LUFC coaching and scouting departments will then select a smaller group to play an exhibition match against professional opposition. The showcase match will be played against LUFC and will be the premier opportunity for the highest-level participants to showcase their talents and build their player profile.

This will be an excellent opportunity for players to interact with and be identified by Loudoun United coaches and staff,” said Patrick Mullins, LUFC Head of Recruiting. “We are focused on contributing to the soccer community in Northern Virginia and the DMV, and this event serves as a platform for the strong pool of dedicated local talent to showcase their ability.”
Loudoun United has a history of success with the club’s player combine. Most recently, Daniel Chica, who signed ahead of the 2023 season, was identified through a similar event. Previous season players, including Nicky Downs, Jermaine Fordah, and Wahab Ackwei, also were discovered through the combine.
Since the club’s inception, many players have made their professional debut with LUFC before progressing to the highest level, including Matai Akinmboni, Kristian Fletcher, Jacob Greene, Jeremy Garay, Sami Guediri, Jackson Hopkins, Ted Ku-DiPietro, Kevin Paredes, Moses Nyeman, Griffin Yow, and Luis Zamudio.
Youth, college, and semi-professional soccer player ages 17-23 who are looking for a platform to showcase their skills at the highest level are invited to register for the LUFC Combine and Showcase HERE. The registration period will remain open until May 30.
