Post Match Conversations
Head Coach Ryan Martin on the team’s overall performance:
- “I thought that was our best performance of the year, start to finish. We probably had a couple big chances that we missed early on. Tampa’s a really great team, great experience, really good players, caused us a lot of difficulties. Our guys won their duels and made big plays when they had to. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
Head Coach Ryan Martin on staying mentally grounded:
- “We have a short term memory and try to not let our highs get too high or our lows get too low. The key to this, a lot of it has been health, getting those top guys healthy. The chemistry of the group has come a long, long way. It takes time and that’s the reality of building something special.”
Hugo Fauroux on another strong defensive showing:
- “Clean sheets means a lot to the whole group. Our defensive effort was incredibly, incredibly strong today. It was an amazing performance. We knew we could come into the game and get a clean sheet, and we made it happen. I’m very proud of the guys.”
Wesley Leggett on the next match in four day:
- “Tomorrow our focus shifts to Hartford. It’s a quick turnaround, but we’re used to it from the Open Cup run. We have to quickly shift to Hartford; they’re no pushover team, so we’re going to take our focus from how we focused on this game to the next one.”
