Match Preview – USL Jägermeister Cup | Lexington SC vs Loudoun United FC
Leesburg, VA (April 24th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club hits the road for their first-round matchup of the USL Jägermeister Cup against USL Championship Western Conference newcomers Lexington SC.
The Matchup
Loudoun United Football Club (6-1-0) currently sit in 1st place in the Eastern Conference with 18 points. Coming off a first-ever home victory over Eastern Conference rivals Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC this past weekend at Segra Field. Lexington SC (1-2-4) sits in 9th place in the Western Conference with seven points in league play. Lexington looks to secure their first win since Week 1 when they defeated Hartford 2-0 at home. Their last two matches, both at home against Monterey Bay FC and Las Vegas Lights FC, finished in 0-0 draws. The Red-and-White have scored 13 goals in their six wins and lead the league in goal differential with +7. Loudoun’s attack of Abdellatif Aboukoura (seven goals in all competitions) and Wesley Leggett (two goals in the last two matches) will be the players to look for on the Loudoun side.
Lexington SC aims to break their two-match scoring drought and secure their first win since March 8th. This is the first-ever matchup between these two clubs, as Lexington joined the USL Championship this season (formally USL League One side). Players to look out for on Lexington include Devon (Speedy) Williams, Cory Burke, and Marcus Epps. Burke and Epps lead the team in goals this season, with two each.
