Loudoun United Football Club Signs Garrison Tubbs on Loan from D.C. United
Leesburg, VA (April 25, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club has signed defender Garrison Tubbs on loan from MLS side D.C. United for the 2025 season.
In the 2024 season with D.C. United, Tubbs appeared in 15 matches, including seven starts, totaling 549 minutes played. He recorded an 88% pass completion rate over the course of the season.
“I’m excited to get in with the guys and build relationships on the field. I’m ready to get started, grind with everyone, and win some more games,” said Garrison Tubbs.
“Garrison is a talented, ball-playing center back who has a great range of passing and can help us build the game the way we want to,” said Head Coach Ryan Martin. “He had a tremendous college career at Wake Forest, and we look forward to welcoming him to Loudoun.”
Before signing a homegrown contract with Atlanta United, Tubbs played for NCAA Division I side Wake Forest University from 2020 to 2023. Following his freshman season, he was named a Freshman All-American by TopDrawerSoccer, recognized as one of the top first-year collegiate players in the country. During his time with the Demon Deacons, Tubbs captained the squad and earned ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors. In 2023, he was a finalist for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy. That season, he helped anchor a backline that posted seven clean sheets. Over four seasons at Wake Forest, Tubbs made 68 appearances, including 66 starts, and contributed three goals and five assists.
Tubbs also brings USL Championship experience. Prior to college, he played with Atlanta United’s U-17 and U-19 squads and appeared in 12 matches with Atlanta United 2. He made his professional debut on July 28, 2019, as a substitute against North Carolina FC, and earned his first start less than a month later against Hartford Athletic on August 24. He totaled 10 starts in his 12 USL Championship appearances.
